Zale Seck: May 25, 2024

Batuki Music Society in partnership with Alliance Française Toronto presents Zale Seck.

Zale Seck is a singer, songwriter, musician, and dancer, who has notably played with the Étoile 2000 de Dakar and the legendary Orchestra Baobab. A skilled percussionist and guitarist, Zale Seck plays authentic griot music, relaying the stories and memories of his Lébou people in Senegal. On stage, Zale Seck has chosen to be accompanied by musicians from Quebec and Africa. A mix that is dear to his heart and makes him eager to share his tastes and traditions. On stage, this desire is palpable. The Quebecer-Senegalese unfolds boundless energy for his audience, taking them on a journey to the shores of the Atlantic, to the beaches where Senegalese fishermen return after their day at sea.
