Streaming on Facebook Live on Saturday, February 27, From Africa will feature eight Toronto-area musical acts with rich personal and artistic connections to the African continent and its diaspora. Each one will share a song and a story revealing beautiful interrelationships that exist between a community’s traditions and the creative ideas and expressions of its artists.
From Africa: A Celebration for Black History Month will feature contributions from: Njacko Backo, Madagascar Slim, Hassan el Hadi, Maryem Tollar, Blandine Mbiya, Tichaona Maredza, Fethi Nadjem, OKAN
This free-to-watch musical celebration in honour of Black History Month kicks off at noon ET on Feb 27 on Aga Khan Museum’s Facebook Live. To participate, visit the Museum’s Facebook page, where you can cheer the artists in the comment. The performance will also be streamed, and later archived, on that page.
