Enjoy the sensational sounds of Okavango African Orchestra and the \u2018African Without Borders\u2019 concert at Alliance Francaise Toronto on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 9:00 pm.<\/p>

Multiple instruments, languages, and countries define Okavango African Orchestra, a Juno award-winning ensemble of seven African-born musicians who live in Toronto and Montreal.<\/p>

Okavango African Orchestra is an ambitious musical project created by Batuki Music Society, a non-profit African arts organization based in Toronto. Featuring a stellar line-up of African-born musicians who live in Toronto and Montreal: Tichaona Maredza (mbira, rhythm guitar, hosho), Sadio Sissokho (kora, tama, djembe), Daniel Nebiat (krar), Kofi Ackah (drums, percussion), Assane Seck (lead guitar), Ebenezer Agyekum (bass) and Mabinty Sylla (dance).<\/p>

Okavango African Orchestra brings together the music and instruments of several African cultures, to create a common meeting place and a new musical language that harmonizes different tuning systems, rhythms, and timbres. Okavango represent a continuum of traditions and cultures from time immemorial to the present day. Okavango African Orchestra looks ahead on its continuing journey to an Africa before the borders were created.<\/p>
